Evening Access Services Manager, Milne Library, SUNY Geneseo (Geneseo, NY)

SUNY Geneseo’s Milne Library invites applications for an Evening Access Services Manager.  This individual will be a member of the Access Service Team and will oversee course reserves program. This individual will also be responsible for developing customer service-oriented trainings with a focus on serving a diverse campus population for both student workers and library staff, as well as provide building supervision in the evenings.  We are looking for a team member dedicated to user services who can thrive in an environment that encourages experimentation and creativity. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to collaborative work, strong outreach skills, and fostering a diverse and inclusive working/teaching environment.

Working hours:

  • During the semester: Sunday to Wednesday, 3pm to 11pm, Thursday 12pm to 8pm
  • When we close earlier, work the 8 hours up to closing time.
  • Additional daytime hours when first hired for training purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a training program for 50+ student workers
  • Supervise 50+ student workers
  • Develop and organize a service-oriented training program for library staff
  • Coordinate course reserve materials in consultation with faculty
  • Provide building supervision in the evening hours
  • Coordinate and provide logistical support on behalf of the library for campus programs such as Orientation, McNair Scholars, and AOP
  • Provide basic research assistance in the evening hours

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree by start date
  • 2 years of relevant customer service experience
  • A commitment to diversity and inclusion

Preferred Requirements

  • Demonstrated interest and/or familiarity in providing basic research assistance
  • Experience providing training and/or workshops
